Girls Night Out
- David Burton for Elle Italia
It’s far too easy for a hen party to descend into something entirely out of character. There’s no rule that it has to involve either a stripper, a feather boa or the sort of drinks you’d never be caught dead drinking. Instead, it should reflect the good taste of the bride and her friends – while never forsaking fun, of course! Here are some of our ideas for a truly memorable night – or if you’re lucky, weekend.
- High tea with plenty of champagne on hand for a low-key afternoon. We love the ‘Girls Parties’ available at Lucy & the Powder Room, where guests can enjoy tea, cakes and champagne while they have manicures, pedicures and mini-massage treatments.
- A weekend away on Waiheke at The Boatshed (or at your favourite luxe hotel) is always fun. Visit a nearby vineyard for a long, wine-soaked lunch, rent a beautiful bach with a spa for soaking, and bring in the caterers to supply a delicious dinner (and plenty of cocktails).
- Head to Sydney or Melbourne with your closest girlfriends for a shopping weekend. Take a look at The Broadsheet for insider knowledge on the best restaurants and bars to frequent while you’re there.
